Southern Thailand Elephant Foundation UK would like to give an elephant sized thank you to Katy Wrench as she steps down from her role as a trustee. Katy has been an incredibly beneficial part of the team for the past two years, supporting the charity with regards to marketing, communications and fundraising. Her expertise in digital marketing and graphic design have ensured the foundation can communicate its work as effectively as possible, providing the Asian elephants of Southern Thailand with a brighter future.
STEF UKs chair of trustees, Merry Smith stated that “during her time as a Trustee, Katy has provided STEF with invaluable website development and analytical support and is continuing to generously share her expertise in this area as a Consultant moving forward.”
Merry is shown presenting Katy with a greatly deserved engraved paperweight to commemorate her time with the Southern Thailand Elephant Foundation.
Katy has been involved in achieving some incredible milestones and delivering exciting projects during her time on the board, including the construction of new buildings at the veterinary centre in Khok Kloi, the purchase of a new mobile clinic to reach urgent medical cases in more rural locations, and many successful fundraising and awareness campaigns to provide sick and injured elephants with the veterinary treatment they need.
But katy believes it was spending time with the elephant patients and talented vets at the veterinary centre in 2024 that was the highlight of her tenure with the Southern Thailand Elephant Foundation.
Luckily, as mentioned above, Katy will still be supporting STEF in an advisory role as she takes on new and exciting career challenges in 2025. We hope that you will join us in thanking Katy and wishing her all the best.
