This website is owned by Southern Thailand Elephant Foundation, registered charity number 1176322.

We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK’s independent authority set up to uphold information rights in the public interest, promoting openness by public bodies and data privacy for individuals.

We are also proud to be a member of the Fundraising Regulator, that sets and maintains standards for charitable fundraising in the UK, ensuring it is respectful, open, honest and accountable.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. When you communicate with us by mail or online we may receive personal information about you. This Policy sets out how we will collect, use and store your personal information.

We will process any personal information that you provide to us in accordance with our obligations under applicable data protection laws and regulations, for the following reasons:

(b) to administer your donation or support your fundraising, including processing Gift Aid;

We will keep your personal data for no longer than is necessary for the purposes for which it is processed.

We do not share, sell or pass your details to any third parties without your permission.

Whilst generally we will seek consent to process your data at the point we collect it, in some cases we may process data without consent where we are legally allowed to do so, and where we have legitimate reasons for doing so (e.g. to respond to a question you have asked us or to process and thank you for a donation you have made). You can request to ‘opt out’ of communications from us at any time, by contacting us either by email or by post to the addresses at the bottom of this page.

If you request to receive no further contact from us, we will keep some basic information in order to avoid sending you unwanted materials in the future, and to ensure that we do not accidentally store details for the same person multiple times.  If we did not retain this information then this could result in us contacting you again as we would no longer have a record of your request not to be contacted.
