Plai Larn

Plai Larn

Each year one of our veterinarians participates in the annual Southern Elephant Health Check-up Program, in collaboration with the Asian elephant Foundation of Thailand, the Thai Elephant Conservation Center Hospital (TECC) Lampang, and Krabi Elephant Hospital.

In February 2025 76 elephants were given health checks and treated for any ailments found. One of those elephants was Plai Larn, a 41 year old male elephant who was struggling with sores on his leg and shoulder.

After Dr Reena assessed Plai Larn she found the sores to be abscesses. These were drained and treated with ointment before being dressed. Plai Larns owner was given additional ointment and dressing supplies to continue treatment in the coming days.
