Did you know the Asian elephant is an endangered species?
Throughout August we will be joining in with the ‘Asian Elephant Awareness Month’ campaign to raise awareness of the threat that Asian elephants are facing. It is also an opportunity to celebrate endangered species and let you know about the work we here at STEF do to support the domesticated elephants in Southern Thailand, so they can have brighter and longer futures.
There around 40,000 – 50,000 Asian elephants left in the world and this number is decreasing.
Please join us this month in spreading the word about these majestic animals. You can also join our cause and help us care for the domesticated elephants in Southern Thailand with the provision of free veterinary care.

Bringing the world together to help elephants. August 12th 2024 is World Elephant Day.
We are supporting World Elephant Day this year, and ask for your engagement to help us share the importance of elephants (specifically the Asian elephant), and how they need our help.
The Asian elephant is of huge importance in Thailand, specifically from a cultural view. But many elephant owners (mahouts) also depend on their elephants for a living. Here at STEF we aim to protect domesticated elephants by providing free veterinary care (that many mahouts otherwise could not afford) whilst also educating mahouts on how best to care for and protect their elephants. This enables us to provide elephants in Southern Thailand with a brighter future.
Did you know the Asian elephant is endangered? We need to spread the word, today on World Elephant Day, as well as every other day, so that more people can come together and help give these gentle giants a future.
