Michael Seton

Sussex based Mike joined STEF in April 2023 after a fascinating career that culminated in him becoming Chief Veterinary Officer for the City of London Corporation, where he was responsible for animal health and welfare in Greater London. Prior to that, Mike’s jobs included working for the Sultan of Oman, caring principally for the Royal horses, cattle and camels, and District Veterinary Officer for the Government of Swaziland working for the Overseas Development Agency. He is now an independent veterinary consultant.

Mike was a Trustee of the Brooke Hospital for Animals from 2006 to 2019, and Chair of the Brooke East Africa. He is deeply committed to improving animal welfare, particularly in the Developing World, and he believes this is best achieved through education and training – a belief that we all share at STEF.
