At STEF, we are dedicated to educating people on how to live alongside captive elephants in a way that keeps them happy and healthy. We work closely with captive elephants and their mahouts, ensuring they receive the best care and treatment, regardless of their work involvement.
Our Mission:
Our mission is clear: to promote the welfare and proper care of captive elephants in Thailand. Through education and training, we strive to improve the lives of elephants and their mahouts.
What We Do:
- Elephant Education: We provide comprehensive education and training programs to mahouts, caretakers, and local communities on elephant care and welfare.
- Mahout Support: We offer guidance and assistance to mahouts to ensure they have the knowledge and resources to provide the best possible care for their elephants as a strategy to prevent the ill-health of Thailand’s elephants.
- Rehabilitation: We do not keep elephants after rehabilitation, we work tirelessly to rehabilitate and release them back into the care of their loving mahouts.
